It describes the integrated support of the recording of legally required data, the triggering of safety measures, and the creating of an accident report.

 

When an accident occurs in an enterprise, any persons injured are generally given initial treatment by a first-aider. In larger enterprises, there are often one or more first-aid rooms, in which patients can be treated and where the legally required data about their injuries can be entered in the injury/illness log. With SAP PLM EH&S Occupational Health, it is now possible to transfer the data relevant for processing the accident to the incident/accident log and make this information directly available to the industrial hygienist for further accident processing.

 

An industrial hygienist can now start researching the events in connection with the accident on the basis of the data from the injury/illness log. An accident is often triggered by a technical fault, and as a result of the accident, damage is often incurred to technical protective equipment. The industrial hygienist is required to ensure that this damage is repaired. To do this, the industrial hygienist can create a plant maintenance notification that is automatically sent to plant maintenance and worked on there as part of maintenance processing. The industrial hygienist can check the status of the progress of the notification at any time. When the plant maintenance work has been completed, the industrial hygienist receives a message in his or her SAP office inbox and at the same time the status is changed in the screen where the industrial hygiene and safety notifications are created.

 

Legal requirements specify that the industrial hygienist must send an accident report containing the information gathered about the accident to the supervisory authorities or accident insurance company within a certain time frame. This will be supported simply with the WWI reporting tool.

 

The time management department records the period of absence of the person injured in the accident accordingly, so that it can be used for human resources management processes such as settlement. This data (only the absence times caused by the accident) is available to the industrial hygienist to complete the time data in the incident/accident log.

 

Once all the data for the accident report has been gathered and saved in the system, the final report can be sent to the supervisory authorities or accident insurance company electronically and internal accident reports can also be sent to the persons responsible.
